Brought to you by PrideVMC Diamond Partner Zoetis
Zoetis and PAW (Proud And Welcome), their LGBTQ+ Colleague Resource group, celebrated a successful Pride Month 2024! Zoetis continued to expand its presence and connection within local communities during Pride, while deepening excellent engagement with executives, leaders and colleagues across the organization.
This year PAW selected a theme for Pride Month activities to shed light on important topics that encourage reflection on the unique experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies. This year, their theme was Proud Families, and they were delighted to spotlight Proud Families at Zoetis and highlight their PAW Parents group – a confidential group for parents and guardians of individuals in the LGBTQ+ community that supports sharing experiences in their journeys.
This past June, Zoetis’ LGBTQ+ CRG, Proud And Welcome (PAW) did the following:
- Had their largest-ever Coffee With PAW (CWP) event, attended by over 200 colleagues and 5 executives, including CEO Kristin Peck. Coffee With PAW events take place on a regular basis throughout the year, with members gathering in a safe, inclusive space to share experiences, and openly discuss topics relevant to the LGBTQ+ community.
- Created a video for LinkedIn with one of PAW’s core team members and Zoetis’ President of US Operations, Ester Banque, that celebrated their commitment to diversity and inclusion and discussed the needs of LGBTQ+ members in veterinary medicine.
- Had a Pride lunch celebration with Zoetis’ CEO Kristin Peck.
- Celebrated by attending and volunteering at multiple in-person Pride events across the United States. They also attended their first-ever Zoetis-sponsored international appearance at Dublin Pride! It was a great success on a very rainy day in Ireland.
- Showcased a virtual pet parade with colleagues and their beloved four-legged family members ‘Pride with Pets’ for a first-time intranet Pride takeover.
- Shared Pride Month trivia at locations across the world, helping to educate colleagues on the history of Pride.
- Many colleagues celebrated Pride around the world, including incredible efforts from the Zoetis LATAM team.
Zoetis believes their success is due to the internal engagement they have built over the past few years and encourages other organizations and LGBTQ+ Colleague Resource Groups to directly engage with their executive and senior leaders. Sharing lived experiences is a powerful way to increase understanding, allyship and advocacy. Zoetis will continue these efforts throughout the year as part of their commitment to an organizational culture of acceptance and inclusion, where each colleague feels valued and cared for.
